Music has had a special place in my heart from the moment I learned “B-I-N-G-O” and “Old McDonald Had a Farm.” I began piano lessons at age 8, violin at age 10, and organ at age 13. I played the flute and piccolo in my middle school marching band, and sang in the Madrigals in High School. I have had the privilege of being a piano teacher for over twelve years, and also a preschool music teacher at several pre-schools. Music has been my friend and companion through every phase of my life.
Primary Music Box was created to help teachers and parents plant a “musical seed” in toddlers -- a seed that will continue to grow throughout a child's life. Studies show that young children greatly benefit from early musical education because it promotes all the areas of child development needed for school readiness. Introducing music early helps a child grow intellectually, socially, and emotionally. Movement can also improve coordination – helping the body and mind learn how to work together.
